Christmas Music: It is never too early

For some people, the Christmas season begins after Thanksgiving with the dreaded black Friday shopping (which by the way, I do not recommend it to anyone, as my first experience with it almost left me with a broken finger because I got caught in between two ladies fighting over something they wanted for their son). For me, although it is mostly after Halloween, the Christmas season is year round. Especially for christmas music. No matter how hard you try to deny it, some of the best music out there is Christmas and holiday music. Why? It is inspiring. It warms the heart, makes you feel at home and happy. It is one of those genres of music that every song connects with you in some way, depending on person to person. I will every now and then turn on some Christmas music (which annoys my family) and blast it in my room, just because it is so great to listen to. Also, it makes me feel like the holiday season vibe never goes away: it just goes dormant for most of the months out of the year. So no matter who you are, after you read this, I recommend listening to some of your favorite holiday music, and you will understand where I am coming from and what I am talking about. Happy Holidays to each and every one of you!

  1. I completely agree! Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year, and Christmas music is my absolute favorite type! I have been listening to it since the middle of October, and I will probably continue to listen through January! When I visit home, I blast it in my car for most of the three and a half hours I'm driving and sing my heart out. Christmas music is so happy and joyful, you can't help but feel that way when you listen to it! It makes me feel at home, which is another reason I listen to it while I'm at school missing home! Great post!

  2. My Dad and I were just talking about this today; how Christmas music just always makes you happy. I don't know what it is; either nostalgia or just the all around cheer that Christmas music brings, but it is always good to listen to. This whole break I have been listening to nothing but Christmas music, and when I went Black Friday shopping (which is over rated you are right) they played it in all the stores. I would like to think it eased the tensions of crazy shopping. Anyways Christmas music rocks and should always be played when you need some cheering up.

  3. Oh my I definitely agree with the Black Friday comment. INSANE! It was an experience, but never again! Cheers to this post! Right after Thanksgiving, I put on 'Jingle Bells' right away. I can't wait until Christmas break to just be with family and be happy. Yeah being in college has many freedoms and it is a "good time" but I really think being home every now and then keeps life at a balance and puts us in "check!" So 'Yay', for Christmas coming with no school! :)

  4. Call me Scrooge, but this is the time of year that Ebay and Amazon get most of my business precisely because I don't want to go out and hear Christmas music. The only positive about the month of December is, as Chelsea pointed out, no school.

    Bah humbug!
